Do You Have Poor Posture?

  • Does it look like you have a hunch back in the mirror? Or does your belly pop out excessively?

  • It's not all about six pack abs, infact it's quite the opposite, just how strong are your Transverse Abdominals, your real stabilizers!
  • Do you think your core muscles are weak? If you think they are, then you're probably right!
  • Here is the test - The Plank: Lay face down on the ground then life your body up on your forearms and toes. Keep your body straight and core in nice and tight.
  • Have you got poor core strength? Good core strength is over 60 seconds, but if you can't even hold 30 seconds then it's time to work on what's really important.

  • Are You Inflexibile?

  • Ignore this and you'll start feeling like the tin man/woman before you know it?
  • Here is the test - Sit down agains a wall with your legs together straight out in front of you. Bend down at the core with your arms straight out in front of you and try and touch your toes. Can't get anywhere near them? Then you've got some serious flexibility issues my friend!
  • Can't touch your toes in the test above?

  • Is Shoulder Istability an Issue?

  • Weak should can lead to lack of progress and strength in many pushing movements and exercises.
  • Do you find it hard to push or increase you bench press from week to week?
  • Do you feel shoulder aches and pains when doing evey day chores?
  • Really though, there is no tests necessary here as EVERYONE should be working on their shoulder stabilizers to help avoid the trip to the physical therapist a few years from now.
