Hi there, my name is Roger,

Now I'm not going to go on about myself here, but I will say that I'm a certified Personal Trainer with experience over the years in helping many people achieve their fitness goals.

The one thing I've noticed being neglected the most in my experience however, is the one thing that most trainers or industry experts don't even bother to tell you about, and really it could be causing you more damage than good...

Poor Posture?

  • Does it look like you have a hunch back in the mirror? Or does your belly pop out excessively?

  • Here is the test - The Plank - lay face down on the ground then life your body up on your forearms and toes. Keep your body straight and core in nice and tight. Good core strength is over 60 seconds, but if you can't even hold 30 seconds then it's time to work on what's really important.

  • Inflexibile?

  • Ignore this and you'll start feeling like the tin man/woman before you know it?
  • Here is the test - Sit down agains a wall with your legs together straight out in front of you. Bend down at the core with your arms straight out in front of you and try and touch your toes. Can't get anywhere near them? Then you've got some serious flexibility issues my friend!

  • Shoulder Istability?

  • Weak should can lead to lack of progress and strength in many pushing movements and exercises. Do you find it hard to push or increase you bench press from week to week?
  • There is no test necessary here as EVERYONE should be working on their shoulder stabilizers to help avoid the trip to the physical therapist a few years from now.
